There are apps that can also assist, but you have to log in and set them up.

look up authenticator apps - they are connected in your browser and can add the OTP with a few clicks.

I am not sure on how to contact seller support if you are having an OTP issue. We have secondary user accounts that can contact them if there is an issue with the main account login. We had an issue in the past where the number was switched out randomly to one no one had ever heard of, which we assume was a years-old client services company. No idea where that glitched and replaced our number with a long deleted one.

Do you have a way to open a case with seller support and verify the phone number they have on record is yours?

I found the area that you can recover your login if you are unable to contact seller support:

Can't they just disabled the 2fa? I never wanted it to begin with and they automatically enabled the 2fa in march. And after that it was working for a short period of time but as of two and a half weeks I don't get the OTP password being sent to my phone anymore. And the problem is on Amazon's end because I've tested my number plenty of times and I receive messages everyday

They can't turn it off anymore, unfortunately, too many scam bots hitting accounts and locking people out of their own account. The only thing that I do is log in and keep everything open. My computer goes off for one night over the weekend, so I only have to re-log in once over the weekend. My computer is also in my home office so no one has access to it.

If there is an error happening on Amazon's side there have been issues that you can get them to look at what is happening. Have you checked if there were any blocked messages your carrier thought were spam? I have seen that happen, too. It has been a mess (lots of forum posts just like yours). I am tagging a few mods who have assisted with other cases, maybe someone has suggestions with knowledge beyond mine.

If you can get logged in I strongly suggest using an authenticator app as backup.

Here's the thing. I have a little bit of luck on my side and here's why: I can log into 1 laptop that, for some reason, doesn't require 2fa. But my other laptops and any other computer, 2fa is required. You mentioned if I can log in to set up an authenticator app. This morning I signed in and tried to get into the login and security section but the 2fa was required. So even though I can sign in with this particular laptop, #1 it scares me that at any moment my laptop can default to 2fa and I'm screwed. #2 the 2fa is still required if I need to make any login and security changes

Hello @Seller_3qdnLg5m9LGue,

Thank you for reaching out. Do you have a seller support case ID you can share in this thread?

I also see that @Seller_iobipI6xASRkhhas provided some great information on the OTP process and authenticator apps. I have provided some more information below as well:

Instead of receiving a code on your phone via text or voice call each time you sign in to your seller account, you can use an authenticator app to generate your authentication code. Authenticator apps do not require phone service or an Internet connection to work, but must be downloaded to whatever device or PC you choose.

To download an authenticator app, go to the app store for your device or browse the Internet.

Looking forward to your response.

Cheers,

Micah
