How to handle a scam return

I'm hoping somebody can guide me, as I'm just not sure which direction to go. A buyer opened a return request for a new/sealed item she bought. She stated as the reason that it arrived late, which it did through fault of the USPS and not us. Then under comments she stated "poor quality." If she's returning a new product because it arrived late, she would know nothing about the alleged poor quality of the product. Then within a couple of hours I received a message from her telling me to send her a label because she doesn't have a printer. I haven't responded to that message. I'm tempted to just mark it as "no response needed" and move on with my life. Since the item arrived late and we used Amazon shipping, Amazon will fund this anyway...theoretically. I'm just not sure though.

No, since the item has been delivered now Amazon won't fund it through an INR A-Z Claim. If you choose, you could print and mail her the label. If you don't, she may leave you negative feedback.

They won't fund INR, but do they not also refund if it arrives late? I also didn't realize I could print the auto-generated label on this end. If I can, that's probably the easiest solution.

No, Amazon doesn't fund a late delivery. They only fund it if it is a INR claim for a package that is late and not delivered, or delivered but the buyer says they did not receive. You can download her label by going to her return request and clicking on "Edit Authorization" and then click on "Download current label" under the heading, "Your return mailing label".

Thank you. I just dropped the label into the mail bin to go out in tomorrow's mail. I'm sure the saga isn't over, but you guided me through this step and I GREATLY appreciate it!

For future reference- Amazon has a solution for people without a printer. As a buyer initiating a return there is an option for the buyer to have Amazon mail them a pre paid return label. I believe Amazon charges a small fee to the buyer for this but that is between the buyer and Amazon.

I believe, nut am not sure, that the customer can also take the return to a few places like kohls or a ups store. Amazon gives the customer a QR code to show the place they take it to. They do not need a box or anything as the store scans the QR code that the buyer has then packages the return, prints the label and sends it for them.
