Custom Buyer message

I recently purchased a product from one of my competitors to field test and analyze. About a week after purchasing I received a seller central email from them (I had not messaged them initially) giving a small "promotional" message about my purchase (a nice customer service tactic)

However I noticed that the message seemed to have a custom formatting that eliminated some of the amazon standard fluff around it like the "Message from seller {SELLER}:" box and the information from Amazon about inappropriate contact. Is this a specific way of sending messages or are they using some kind of HTML formatting to eliminate this ancillary text and formatting? I'm hoping someone here knows how they accomplished this and can show me. Screenshots below:

Be sure NOT to leave a seller or product review, it will get your account suspended!

There are sellers that can hack into the system and get your e-mail address. Hard to say without the header, but this e-mail may not come from Amazon/via Amazon's server.

Hi @Seller_szvCYf3lc72Au,

There are Amazon provided templates in Buyer-Seller Messaging tool that are automatically loaded when you create your Seller account. However, you can create your own templates by following the steps below:

Create a response template

Go to Manage Templates to create a template or follow these steps:

  • In the upper-right corner of your seller account home page, click Messages to go to Buyer-Seller Messages.
  • Click the Manage Email Templates link on the right-hand side of the image.
  • Click the Create Template.
  • Enter a name for your template in the Template Name field and the template text in the Template Text field.
  • Create or select tags to associate with this template. Tags will categorize your template and make it easier to find the next time you want to use it.
  • Click Save to finish.

When creating your own templates, be sure you are always following the Communication Guidelines outlined in our Program Policies.

You can visit the Buyer-Seller Messaging templates help page for more information on creating and editing your templates.

Let me know if this helps, or if you need further assistance!
