Partial Refunds is Broken
I spent over two hours trying to give a customer a 3.75 partial refund.
The first two hours was wasted on Seller Support Chat because the phones were not working
I was finally able to talk to someone three days later. He saw the problem I had and was also unable to get it to work.
He told me to contact Customer Service. After considerable time on Chat and with a "Specialist", they told me to go back to Seller Support or tell my customer to file an A-Z Claim.
Besides the fact that partial refund does not work, both sides of refund form for "reason for refund" are different and do not apply to why the refund needed to be given. My customer was overcharged on shipping.
The problem is that, when I fill out partial refund side, it does not allow me to submit on the main refund section.
I finally had to tell my customer to either file an A-Z Claim or, on her next order, to remind me to change price on item to 3.75 less prior to placing the order.
Seems like, for some reason, Amazon does not want sellers to issue partial refunds so they are making it impossible to do so which is pretty bush league to both me and my customer.

you can upload an adjustment file.

This was the least helpful suggestion I have yet to see anywhere on the forum. It would require being in a professional plan and having considerable experience with feeds. Or be willing to spend many hours trying to figure them out them out for a one-time use. I suppose he could hire a consultant but it would be cheaper to simply refund the entire amount.
Although as a means of self-promotion I can't imagine a more efficient six word forum reply and all with the use of a single obscure Amazon acronym.

They dont want people charging restocking fees

Go to the customer's order, click "Refund Order" near the top right. Now set the refund reason to General Adjustment, and set the units to 0. Near the bottom you will see Additional Refunds, enter the amount you wish to refund into that box, then click Submit Refund. There is a cap to how much you can enter into this field as shown next to it. Just be warned that if the customer returns the order later, the amount you refunded prior using this method will not count towards their return refund.

Will respond later today but any reason that I am not receiving replies when I checked to receive them?

Another thing I hate (very rarely use that word) is that Amazon forces sellers to lie if they want to get a partial refund since they do not have enough reasons or an "other" box.
What truthful reason can anyone give for partial refund for an item that was returned for insufficient address?
My restocking fee was not worth the aggravation or having to sacrifice my principles which is probably why the partial refund is so convoluted.
