Low Inventory Level Fee with Qty of 1

To avoid LILF, I have been deleting my FBA listings with 0 qty. I figured they can't charge me for items that are not in my inventory. However,

1) I see items in my FBA listing with "Fees will be applied in current week " for items that are NOT in my inventory at all. What does this mean? Are they saying they are going to charge me for items I dont even have listed?

2) I see items that will be charged for items that have qty of 1. I am unable to buy any more of these items. What am I supposed to do with these? Are my options either (1) remove them and delete the listing or (2) just sit there and get charged the extra fees?

Hello @OMGClayAikin,

I understand your concern and have provided you with more information below, which I have put the most important information in bold.

I also wanted to let you know that there have been some recent changes to the Low-Inventory level fee, announced tonight. From the News announcement thread:

"On April 1, 2024, the FBA low-inventory-level fee went into effect, and we announced any low-inventory-level fees charged in April would be credited back. We’re extending this transition period through May 14. By May 31, you’ll be credited back for any low-inventory-level fees incurred between April 1 and May 14. We hope this transition period has helped you get more familiar with the fee and fee management tools. We've seen that the additional time has enabled even more sellers to achieve healthy inventory levels and avoid this fee entirely.

We’ve continued to listen to your feedback and are making three additional changes that are designed to better target these low-inventory-level fees to where you have the most control to ensure healthy inventory:

Because of the greater unpredictability in managing inventory levels for seasonal, end-of-life, and other low-volume products with varying demand, starting May 15, the low-inventory-level fee will not apply to products that have sold less than 20 units in the past 7 days."

I would also recommend that you do not delete your inventory, rather edit your SKU's advising that you are no longer able to replenish that item.

To do so, you would do the following:

1. Go to your Restock Inventory Page

2. Check the box next to your SKU that you will no longer be selling.

3. On the right hand side of the screen, select 'Customize SKU Setting'

4. Under 'Replenishable' Select 'No"

This will advise Amazon that you are no longer able to obtain these items. While marking a listing as non-replenishable does not affect your IPI score. It simply removes the ASIN from your FBA in-stock rate calculation to keep it accurate, allowing you to keep your in-stock rate up to date. Your on-hand inventory performance affects your IPI score.

I hope this information is able to put your mind at ease. Please do not hesitate reaching out if you have additional questions.

All the best!

Michelle
