Branded Product list AS Generic
Hello everyone,
I'm currently facing an issue regarding my account. Essentially, my account was deactivated in December 2023 because I listed items as generic when they were actually branded Korean beauty products. I have all authentic invoices from a legitimate supplier and a letter of authorization from the brand. The invoices cover all 365 days of sales as per Amazon policy. However, Amazon rejected my submission without providing a reason.
I acknowledge that I violated the policy unintentionally. The items I listed didn't have original listings on Amazon, so I categorized them as generic due to a lack of knowledge. I wasn't aware that listing branded items as generic was a violation.

Hello @Seller_g9gM5QQeHX78O
I appreciate you utilizing the Seller Forums and bringing this issue to our attention.
I understand your account has been deactivated because you listed against an ASIN that is mis-branded, and is infringing on a third party’s rights.
I understand that you have provided the corresponding invoices, but they have not been accepted. In addition to making sure that these invoices correspond to sales for the last 365 days, did you ensure that they meet the following requirements?
- Invoices issued in the last 365 days before enforcement date.
- Reflect sales volume during the last 180 days since the enforcement date.
- Include contact information for supplier AND buyer, including name, phone number, address, and websites
- File formats must meet either .pdf, .jpg, .png, or .gif files
- These documents must be authentic and unaltered, however Sellers can remove pricing information or circle/highlight the ASIN in question.
Does the letter of authorization contains the following elements:
- 'Licensor'–The company/brand providing the rights to intellectual property
- 'Licensee'–The company/brand receiving the rights to use the intellectual property.
- ‘Grant’–The intellectual property being licensed and the scope of rights granted
- ‘Geographic Scope’–The specific territory or territories where use is authorized (may be worldwide)
- ‘Term’–The duration of the authorization (may be perpetual)
Please review this information, to make sure your documents meet all the requirements.
The forums community and I are here to support you. Please let us know how we can help from this point forward.
Best regards,
- Saeid
