Help with Eans
Hello, I have a problem with listing products. We needed to change Eans, so I deleted existing products and I want to relist them. However, even when I don't see Asin in my inventory when I try to list those products again it shows me an error 8541... I need to change eans for two products, because in the previous listing, they got mismatched, causing some problems for our customers. I opened a case, but nothing was solved. Even after multiple attempts to list it in various ways (variation, sheets) it still shows this : 8541: The value 08594201400940 specified cannot be used as it conflicts with the value 08594201400919 for ASIN B0CHB6F6HX in the Amazon catalogue. If this is ASIN B0CHB6F6HX, update the value to match the ASIN data. If this is a different product, update identifying information (UPC/European Article Number (EAN)/Part Number/etc.). The main issue is that we listed the wrong colours with Eans and cant change this attribute.

Don't think there is a chance to use the same EAN twice, without putting it on the same ASIN. Even if you deleted it in your catalogue, it is still in the Amazon database and thus, causing this error message. Only way is to use a new EAN and create a new product with new ASIN

I think that the only way to solve this problem is to remove completely these two child Asins ( offer and catalogue).
1. Download the inventory loader template,
2. fill in the 2 Skus and next to them select (x)
3. upload the file and wait 48 hours.
4. Use the template specific for your category and select full update for the two child Asins with the correct EANs and partial update for the others ( both Parent and child Asins so as to connect them to the product familly.
CAUTION! If you have fba listed products and change the EANs, then it is possible Amazon to match them with a new Asin and this will lead to wrong product mapping. In other words you will not be able to sell your products, as those specific two products will have at the same time two different Asins ( one listed and one In Amazon fulfillment centers). In that case, it is highly recommended to proceed only if you don't have inventory stored in Amazon FC.
Tip: Regarding the correct child Asins you will make just partial update, you could better as external_product_id_type select the ASIN and fill in their ASINs, instead of EANs.
