Is Amazon stealing the buy box normal?

Is it normal for amazon to take the buy box from you by outpricing and making auto price match continue to think your the lowest? They already hold the subscribe and save to themselves and take over half of the selling price. now they steal all of thew sales and charge if the inventory doesn't sell out. Doesn't seem right to me. went from having 5 sales a day from one or two products, back to zero.

Sounds about right. You might as well quit selling anything Amazon sells, that's a battle you can't win. And if they see something that sells well, they make a better deal with the brand and offer it for less then you can afford.

While I don't TOTALLY agree with @Its_all_Nuts_again they are pretty spot on. I do get the Buy Box some of the time even when Amazon is on the ASIN but generally only when they are out of stock and their delivery won't be for several weeks.

Since you appear to be new some basic research BEFORE you jumped in the river would have found HUNDREDS of posts about the strategies that Amazon uses to get as much of the business as possible.

The buy box is a mystery shrouded in fog and voodoo incantations. The formula shifts and changes all the time.

Look at selling on Amazon this way --

It's THEIR SITE.

They will do everything needed to feed THEIR bank account.

You are an "invited guest" and your job is to be the child at the table and be seen but not heard.

You will get whatever table scraps are left after they get their sales.

The ONLY way around that is to develop your OWN products with your own BRAND and have a stable of attorneys available to protect it from pirates, copies, IP violations and other issues.

And, again, pretty much ALL of this could have been discovered with NO difficulty if you had studied the market before jumping in. Basic Business 101 -- know the competition (AMAZON).

Hello @Seller_F1d31O4fwO9ll,

Michelle at Amazon here. I understand you have questions about Amazon winning the buy box over you. As stated by NEVERLAST, it can rotate out to you or to Amazon, whoever has the best price and the other factors that play into winning the buy box that are not shared with anyone, including employees. I know it can be frustrating, but there is no additional information I can provide to you.

I hope this information is helpful. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Regards,

Michelle
