FBA Label & Packaging Service
Hi,
I'm sending to FBA, some Sku's (shorts) that already exist on Amazon.com from other sellers. I would like to use the FBA packaging and labeling service but I keep receiving this message:
"Amazon cannot provide prep and labeling services for items that do not have a single scannable barcode (GCID, UPC, EAN, JAN, or ISBN) that corresponds to an ASIN in Amazon’s catalog."
Within my own inventory, I've purchased & added GTINs to each SKU I am sending but can't find anywhere on Amazon seller central to add that information to these individual SKUs
I have the option to package & label myself & then ship to Amazon but for this particular shipment, I need to use the labeling service.
Any ideas?
Thank you so much!

I think you're a little confused about how Amazon works.
If you are listing shorts that are *exactly* the same as an existing listing, you just create a SKU for *your* products and create an offer. The sizing, UPC, color, brand, etc *all* must be exactly the same as the current listing.
A SKU is an alpha-numeric code that you as the seller make up. It can be random, or contain letters and numbers that help you identify the product or it's location in your warehouse. Amazon doesn't care what your SKU is, just that you have one.
If you are listings shorts that are *similar* to a current listing then you need to create a new listing. This is where a GTIN (purchased from GS1) comes into play. Here you're saying that you have a product that's different from everything else out there and you want to identify it.
When your products get to FBA, Amazon wants to scan the barcode/UPC on the item and then be like, Oh, this is those shorts that @Seller_hMiqBPiu39yiPsaid they were sending us. The UPC says it's red shorts size medium. Let's put an FNSKU label on it. And since it's clothing, Amazon's going to polybag it too (that would be 2 fees per product for you).
Does that make more sense?

yes of course it makes sense. And I’ve sent tuns of shorts and jeans to FBA before. This difference here is that I need “them” to label & package this time. When I try to select the option “Amazon packages & labels” it says these SKUs cannot be labeled by amazon because items that do not have a single scannable barcode (GCID, UPC, EAN, JAN, or ISBN) that corresponds to an ASIN in Amazon’s catalog."
I’ve also modified my settings for FBA to “Amazon packages & labels. I’ve also tried creating a new “case Template “ but the option for them to label & package is blocked there too
