How do I merge two ASINs into one listing where I have a variation?

Hello,

I have a product that we sell under our brand that comes in a single unit and three-pack. Both have different ASINs, but when I try to create a variation for the single unit, it does not allow me to add any variation and I am given this message:

Is there something I am currently doing wrong or is there a specific process to go be able to create the variations?
