EU-based Responsible Person for US-based sellers
Dear Amazon Seller Support,
We are writing to seek clarification regarding the recent request to add information about an EU-based Responsible Person for our non-CE-marked products to comply with the General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR).
As a US-based reseller, all our suppliers are also based in the United States, and we currently do not have any contacts in Europe. In light of this, we would like to understand if we are still required to designate an EU-based Responsible Person.
Your guidance on this matter would be greatly appreciated to ensure we remain compliant with all necessary regulations.
Thank you for your assistance. @Nano_Amazon @Ka_Amazon @Jona_Amazon

Hello @Seller_zsVXeHUDxiVHQ,
Greetings, this is Ka, Spain Community Manager.
Thanks for sharing your inquiry about the General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR).
Short answer, yes, all sellers (including non-EU based) are required to appoint an EU-based Responsible Person for the products. You can get more info about the GPSR in the following help page:
General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR)
Inside that help page you will find a more detail article about this regulation from the EUR-Lex website titled: “Regulation (EU) 2023/988 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 10 May 2023 on general product safety, amending Regulation (EU) No 1025/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council and Directive (EU) 2020/1828 of the European Parliament and the Council, and repealing Directive 2001/95/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council and Council Directive 87/357/EEC (Text with EEA relevance)”
If you have more questions about this, we suggest consulting with a legal professional specializing on products import in the EU.
We hope that this information is useful to resolve your query.
Best regards, Ka
