Placement fee, low inventory fee, excess inventory fee

Is this for real? So many fees, theres barely any way to profit with amazon. If you don't send enough- FEE, if you have too much in inventory -FEE, if you ship as needed -FEE, who would want to stay on board with this. I just checked what AMAZON wants me to replenish, and it looks like they want me to send more units of the asins that have just been sitting there for a while (while amazon is selling their own inventory of the same ASIN) So if i send it, i'll be paying extra for the shipment, inventory fee and the cost of the product. So my products are on standby while amazon keeps selling their own inventory! Also, their inventory forecasting isn't the best- recommendation to send in 13 units when the sales are only 8 per month with other sellers on the listing.

Good afternoon @Seller_Idrdlciv1HG4R,

Thank you for taking the time to provide your candid feedback. Additionally, I wanted to highlight the recently announced credit for the month of April regarding the low-inventory fee. From the News announcement:

"We have heard feedback from a number of sellers that they are still uncertain what the exact effect of this fee will be on their business. To help you better see how this affects your business in real time, we will provide a transition period during the month of April.

We will still charge the FBA low-inventory-level fees incurred between April 1 and April 30, but after the end of the month, we will credit your account for all low-inventory-level fees charged during this period. Our goal is for you to see the end-to-end experience, and understand how this may affect your business so you can further update your inventory management to maintain sufficient inventory levels, drive greater sales, and avoid the fee in the future."

You can find the rest of the announcement here, but please let me know if you have any additional thoughts or questions.

- Bryce

Yes, this fee for everything is getting out of control.

Amazon already takes 50% of our sales each month.

Guess sellers will have to increase their prices in order to help pay for all these fees.

So in the end, the customer has to pay more because Amazon just won't stop sticking it to the sellers.

I think what is going to happen is more sellers are going to leave the platform. Amazon's recommendations are erroneous in a lot of cases. Prime is becoming less competitive with FBM.

Amazon crossed the line there. Maybe in Dec they will introduce Santa Claus fee.

There may be less than "barely any profit." Wait until Amazon ships late, then the package arrives late. The customer gets to keep it and they take the money out of your account. YOU did not choose when or how to ship, but you will pay. Or how about when the lying buyer says yes, it says delivered but I didn't get it! The buyer then keeps your product for free because he was refunded OUT OF YOUR ACCOUNT, never funded by Amazon.

FBM is the only way to make a little profit. As long as you use Amazon shipping, follow all the rules, ship quick, etc.

I really think all of these new fees were created solely to get rid of smaller sellers. It makes business sense to me that Amazon is much more efficient when stocking and picking from the large sellers. Think about me, sending in a case of 30 polishes. Is that even enough to have one in each warehouse? And Amazon would move those all over the country to have just one ... then it takes up it's own location. Then when it finally sells a picker is searching through to find it. Can't possibly be efficient for Amazon. It would be even worse for sellers who send in smaller amounts or one of a kind ... I'm angry because Amazon did not come to us months ago and explain that unless we are large sellers it just costs them too much and they'd like us to back out of FBA. I would have said I understand and sold out and not restocked. Instead they beat us down with more fees. Threaten us with more fees. It's just cruel. But now we know. They want the small sellers to go back to FBM and FBA is just for large sellers. Why do you think our shipping tripled or quadrupled where chinese sellers can still ship a full pallet to the west coast for only $259 and zero placement fees? Take the hint. Get out of FBA unless you are a large seller.
