Premium Shipping Issue

I am a new FBM handmade and custom seller. I have my store level handling time set at 1 day. On the SKU level I have 2 days handling time.

Overnight I received an email from Amazon saying “You are now eligible to offer Premium Shipping options on your seller-fulfilled orders.”

I got my first and only custom order so far today 6/14 at 12:48pm for a second day delivery. The email said “Your customer is expecting this to ship by 06/14/2025.” Thankfully I was in my studio and able to scramble to make the custom order and get it to the UPS store in time. However, I need to get this fixed for future orders.

Amazon’s Premium Shipping program policy says “Minimum handling times for Premium shipping orders with 1- and 2-day promises that are received before your order cut-off time, you must ship these out the same day they are received (same -day handling time).”

Seller Support isn’t really understanding the issue. Is there somewhere I can un-enroll from this program? I do not want to ship late due to unrealistic same day shipping times.

Under Shipping templates, two day delivery is checked and grayed out - I cannot uncheck this option. Under Order Fulfillment Settings Premium Ship Options is defaulted to 2 PM and I cannot change this either.

Hi @Seller_vnPBwOVTfn9bU,

It looks like your SKU-specific handling time is being overwritten by Amazon’s Automated Handling Time (AHT) settings. For custom or handmade products, you should be able to request an exception and manually set a handling time that works for you. Here’s the relevant line from Amazon’s help page:

“For certain product types, such as custom, heavy and bulky, handmade, perishable, or media SKUs, you can request an exception to manually set a SKU-specific handling time that will override what AHT has configured.”

You can find that info > here <

When you contact Seller Support, it may help to reference this page and specifically ask for the exception. Hope you get it sorted out and do not have to scramble for future orders!

Best

Michael
