As of March 1, 2024, the new Inbound Placement Service for Marketplace Web Services (MWS) is not available
The new Inbound Placement Service should be available today, March 1, 2024. However, I do not see it as an option.
Here is what I see when I try to follow the directions to select the new option:
The two options that appear (Distributed Inventory Placement, and Inventory Placement Service) are the same options that have always been available and Inventory Placement Service is supposed to disappear as of today, March 1. There should be a new option, but there is not. Can anyone explain? Thank you.

Amazon continues to increase fees while decreasing value, services, and support.
This latest fee increase has doubled the cost of doing FBA. Amazon has made their "premium" platform significantly less profitable. It is one thing to treat us all so poorly if we are making good money. It is an entirely different thing when they treat us even worse and make us pay them more to do it.
Amazon needs to focus less on virtue signaling and their DEI programs, and more on the 3rd party sellers that supposedly make up 1/2 of their business.
These increased fees come out of my ad budget.

My experience is a bit different than yours since we ship UPS parcels, not pallets. Our product is sent out in cases.
What seems ridiculous to me is that Amazon breaks this into separate transactions, in a sense.
Today, we sent out 86 cases of product, to FBA. It had us send to 5 different locations around the USA. I had to print 5 different sets of labels. However, all of the cases go onto the same truck, in particular order, and then get sorted at the UPS warehouse.
What is the point in breaking shipping labels up into these various destinations instead of just letting me print all of them at once. The new system invites mistakes to be made.

This, along with the newish low inventory fba fee, are just more reasons to try and focus more on FBM. These increased fees are getting insane.

We haven't sent in any FBA shipments since November. Looks like we won't be using FBA services anymore. $148 to send in 600 units in a 40 lbs box... are you -------- kidding me?

It is a very simple and basic was to AVOID the PLACEMENT FEES. There is not hidden science. It very simple if you send a single sku in less than 4 boxes you will be charged the placement fee. no matter how many boxes you send in and no matter how many are in each box.
Let me explain it this way. If I have 4 sku. A, B,C,D
ONE sku needs to be in 4 boxes just by itself
Box 1 Sku A
Box 2 Sku A
Box 3 Sku A
Box 4 Sku A
_____________NOW ANY OTHER BOXES AND ANY OTHER COMBINATION OF SKU IN THE BOXES will qualify you for the free inbound placement plan. So
Box 5 Sku B, C, D
Box 6 Sku A, D
and so on. the quantity does not matter, so you could send in 4 boxes with 1 item in each box it would qualifty you for the no fee inbound.

****One note if your shipping plan like my example has 6 different shipments. You MUST send in all 6 shipments to the location on the label provided. if you say only send to 5 locations because you sent 2 boxes to your favorite FBA warehouse thinking you would be able to beat the sytstem. Think again it will blacklist you and you wont be able to send anywhere for free until you send that missing box to the fba location you skipped
