Product Policy Violations - Support unable to explain how to fix

I recently got 197 Product Policy Violations.

193 of these say "Account Health Rating Impact: no impact". These are for products I have listed and sold for many years. They are either: "Violation of Amazon Marketplace Fair Pricing Policy" (I guess they expect us to price things for less than they're worth) or, "Restricted Products Policy Violation" - herbs and grocery/spice items, but I guess have become regulated. Fine, remove them years later, but I didn't lift a finger to create any recent violations!

4 of them show a low or Medium impact for trademark violations. In one case, it's a product the brand wanted to restrict - fine, remove it. In 3 cases, it was a generic phrase in the product description details that happens to be shared by a brand (shower to shower, sour power, oregon chai), but is NOT the product title or anything close to what the trademark is for.

I put in a request to seller support asking how to remove the ones that impact account health, and got a vague reply: "If you wish to have the violations remove, you may appeal the violations or contact our Account Health Team". Yes, that was what I messaged YOU for, so... proceed?

A week later I got 4 calls from Account Health with repeated hangups. Finally a support team member connected and I asked them what was going on and why I was getting calls after I asked for help about those 4 and the other 193 have no impact.

The team person told me I needed to appeal the 4 and address the 193 or it would hurt my account. I asked why it said they had no impact, and if that was true could I ignore them?

He said they had no impact and I could ignore them, but I had to address them.

I asked him to explain or pick one??????? He put me on hold then hung up. Great performance, Amazon! I'm still in the dark on why they're hassling me and wasting my time or how to avoid getting more of these.

Any products that are outdated or you no longer sell should be fully deleted from your Manage All Inventory page. It's not enough to just close the listing or show them as Inactive (zero under the qty). If they show under your Manage All Inventory page, this is considered intent to sell. If you don't delete them, you will probably get hit with another round of violations on the same ASINs.

This happens a lot on old listings, and then the violations remain on your account for 180 days. The no-impact ones will not affect your Account Health, and you can safely delete them. You really do not want to get hit with any violations, so it's important to stay on top of this. We do a cleanup every few weeks and delete all our old ASINs to avoid this from happening.

If you are planning on appealing the violations that are impacting your Account Health, do not delete them (yet). The only way to remove the violation is to successfully appeal, which is often difficult in most cases with older products. If they are not successfully appealed, they, too, will remain on your account for 180 days. If the appeal is denied, then delete them as well to avoid getting hit a second time.

Hello @Extramile,

Robbie from Amazon here

I recently got 197 Product Policy Violations.

I understand that you have some concerns about the violations present on the account health page.

193 of these say "Account Health Rating Impact: no impact". These are for products I have listed and sold for many years.

The account health rating is calculated based on how many violations are impacting your account and your sales volume. The impact level will affect how many points are remove from your rating. If you have a violation that says no impact then it is not going to affect your account rating. No impact violations can still remove your listings for sale, so if you intend to sell these ASINs we recommend appealing by sending us dispute documentation or fixing the violation. The goal is to have no violations on the account health page weather they impact your score or not. This is why we recommend addressing the no impact violations. If the violations are left unaddressed, then they will stay on the account health page for 180 days. For more information about how your account health score is calculated, visit the account health rating: frequently asked questions help page.

As @Medic pointed out above, it is important to review your inventory and remove any listings you do not intend to sell. If they are in your inventory we considered those ASINs as products that will be selling in the future. Do you still have items in your inventory that you are not currently selling?

Can they supply a way to remove these in bulk when they flag them arbitrarily?

Depending on the type of violation, you may be able to address multiple flagged listings in bulk. For example, let’s say you decide not to sell multiple listings and you want to acknowledge the violation in an attempt to remove them from the account health page. Then you may be given the option to select multiple violations through the appeal button. If you need to send in different information to appeal each violation, then you would need to send in the appeals individually.

Best,

Robbie
