Brand Name not Appearing on Search Display Title

I was asked by Dougal_Amazon to create another thread and tag him. Sorry if this is repeat information. @Dougal_Amazon, if you could address this with us, we would truly appreciate it.

We have some top selling products in some Home categories and when the items are searched, the results show titles that omit the 'brand name' entirely. According to another seller, Amazon had stated ,"We are currently testing a new way to display product titles that removes less recognizable brand names."

We believe we have brand equity (although apparently not enough in Amazon's opinion if that is what they are concluding) and we believe this is hurting our sales. This is our bread and butter.

I have been reaching out on this platform (other threads) as well as with Brand Registry and the Catalog team. I've not gotten a satisfying response to why this is happening. What you have shared here is more than what I've received on support cases.

I've asked Seller and Brand Support for our 'brand name' to be put back in the search title but nobody seems to have the tools, or if you are Brand Registry, have any clue what is going on or even recognize the problem, to boot.

Case # 12863213891

Thanks, @Dougal_Amazon.

First, and this will not answer your question BUT it is important for Amazon sellers to realize, Amazon does NOT HAVE a 'search engine' by any logical definition of the term.

They have a SALES ENGINE. It is designed ENTIRELY to show you what THEY want you to BUY. If that were NOT the case doing a search for a UPC number would ONLY come up with the product that has that number and NOT a dozen 'sponsored' products that appear BEFORE the actual item.

Having said that, Amazon is actually being a bit MORE transparent when they say that their so called 'search' " removes less recognizable brand names.".

Nothing personal, but this is Amazon, and when you say "We believe we have brand equity " you are delusional. The ONLY 'equity' on here belongs to AMAZON.

Hello @Seller_X0u8wgVb1f902,

I appreciate you coming back and tagging me, this post definitely fell through the cracks and I apologize for the amount of time it has taken me to respond. I have been unable to research as when I search the case ID provided, I am not getting anything. Is it possible you have another case ID I can check?

I was also going to recommend heading over to this THREAD, but looks like you have already found it and posted.

I am not aware of any way to be removed the experiment as mentioned in the attached thread, but I would be happy to dive deeper. I would need a case ID that I can reference. Is the case you shared created from either the Amazon Advertising Console or the Brand Registry site? If so, I do not have visibility into those queues.

I am happy to help where/when I can.

Best,

Dougal
