Amazon e-mail 1/6/25 - Refund for overcharged variable closing fee
Email received 1/6/25. Is this legitimate"
"Hello,
We’ve identified a technical issue that led to the incorrect application of variable closing fees on some of your non-media products in the US and Canada stores between September 22 and October 7, 2024.
To rectify this, we’ll issue a refund to your selling account for the total amount you were overcharged during this period. You can find the details of this adjustment on your date range report in Seller Central.
To generate a date range report, follow these steps:
1. On the respective Seller Central, go to Payments, and then select Payments.
2. Click Transaction View.
3. Select Other under the Transaction Type tab.
4. Set the date range, then click Update.
5. Look for the adjustment amount in Other column.
6. Download and open the file in Excel.
7. Look for “other” in Transaction Type and Product Details column.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we resolve this matter. Thank you for your continued partnership.

As long as there are no links in the message, and everything is directing you to do things in your Amazon account and not elsewhere, I see no reason to suspect it is not legit.
All it's doing is showing you how to get a report. Regardless, it sounds as if some amount of money is going to show up in your account in the future because of this.

Thanks to Nisha for the reply above! @Seller_8cIsVssvO29X6 have you already seen this refund issued on your reports since this post?

Did you ever receive this refund?
We received the same email, and never saw any refund. I've reached out to Seller Support, and they are completely useless as always.
