25x25x25 boxes for FBA

I'm about to send my first shipment to Amazon. My product is packaged in 6x6x24 boxes and will be ready for Amazon to ship as is. I was planning to send 12 of these individual boxes containing my product inside one 25x25x25 box. I found a box on Amazon that's advertised as being 25x25x25, but my fear is that the 'actual' dimension of the exterior could be 25.5 or similar. Does anyone have experience using boxes that are advertised as being 25x25x25? and are they usually accepted by Amazon or do they usually end up being slightly over? I thought about trying a 24x24x24 box to be on the safe side, but that would probably be way too tight. Any insight would be greatly appreciated! Thanks -

No help on sending to FBA BUT I buy a lot of Uline boxes and their dimensions are THEORETICALLY for the INSIDE of the box.

For postage purposes I have NEVER found an 8x8x8 box that was not measured out as 9x9x9 with the rounding.

I don't know about the size limits for FBA because my control freak takes over every time I even consider it. I don't trust Johnny to pack and ship anything correctly...........

Hi @Seller_uowu6KW6Ibcuh,

Dominic from Amazon here happy to help!

A box may only exceed the 25.00 inch limit if it contains oversize units that measure longer than 25.00 inches. Boxes that are excessively large relative to the oversize units (exceeding the 2 inches of cushioning recommended above) may be subject to restriction of shipping privileges, additional fees, or refusal at a fulfillment center.

This page has helpful information on package weight and dimension: Understanding item package weight and dimensions. I have included a blurb from this page below:

  1. When you design your packaging, avoid dimensions that are close to the size-tier boundaries. To learn more about product size tiers, go to FBA fulfillment fee.
  2. Packaging should be snug against your product. Avoid packaging products in loose polybags with excess material, such as polybag flaps.
  3. Ensure that loose packaging parts, such as handles, stay tucked against the box.
  4. Packaged items should maintain similar edge-to-edge dimensions from one item to the next.

When possible, avoid the following items and packaging types, which cause the most common discrepancies:

  1. Soft items that bulge out of its box packaging
  2. Deformable or loose packaging, including plastic bags with excess material
  3. Packaging with movable parts, including handles that pop out, or floppy string handles
  4. Packaging that is close to the threshold between fulfillment-fee size tiers
  5. Packaged items that vary in edge-to-edge dimensions, such as one package with a lot of excess polybag, and another package with a tight-fitting polybag

Please let me know if you have any additional questions!

Best,

Dominic
