item not returned

@SEAmod how long do we typically wait for the returned item to no be returned until you can go into the return, click complete return request and select "item not returned" and hit save? I am not sure if it is a good idea to do this or to just wait. seems like many customers are buying items and putting in a return request in case they have buyer remorse later and then 60-90 plus days down the line they send in the item.

Not sure what to do here, i have buyers who do this and wait over 60 with no movement. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Some buyers want to see if the seller will let them keep the item instead of returning it. They don't necessarily want to return it, they just want to see what they can keep.

After 50 days & the buyer doesn't return the item, it falls off. I have seen Amazon issue a refund after years, but I had something that they tried to return 10 months later, & Amazon did not refund them.

There is no need to do anything, when they return it, it will scan in, then Amazon will remove the funds from your account. No return, no refund. Amazon will take care of everything, you don't have to click a thing.

Just wait for the return, and/or hope they don't return it. I had 5 returns earlier this year, only 2 of them returned the item. The other 3 didn't, and they eventually went away, out of my returns. The funds were not removed from my account.

Hello @Seller_r9aeuoNgHzEWk- and thanks for starting this discussion here on the forums. The guidance from @Seller_WBnGS7Ix3XiDXhere is sound, and I hope helped you manage this return (or lack thereof).

Our page on completing or closing a return request confirms: "Return requests not actioned within 50 days from return creation (such as, if the return item is not sent back to the merchant) will be closed automatically."

Have you already crossed the 50 day threshold for the order in question?

Thanks for letting me know!

-Danny
