Help with adding variation to existing listing

I'm having trouble adding a variation to my existing listing (we're the owner of the brand, and the listing doesn't have existing variations yet).

I've tried using the Edit Listing page first, but I was unable to add any images for the variant. (Looking through the forums suggested that size variants don't allow new images, but I'm forced to select both "size" and "flavour" variant types to enter the Add Variant page)

When I contacted Amazon Support, they suggested using an Inventory File to add the variant, but there's no instructions on *how* to set up the file before submitting. I've tried checking the Help page, however it only covers either creating a new product listing with variants, or adding to an ASIN that *already* has variants.

What should we do in this case? Should I go ahead with the create variants page anyways and try adding the images manually afterwards? Or should I duplicate the existing listing, change the contents to match the variant, then try merging them using the Inventory File?

Hi @Seller_kO3f3kaAxSj9m,

Thanks for contacting us. You may find this post helpful. It goes over 3 different ways that you can create variations and links to each of the help pages. If you are using a category specific file, once you download the file and open it, there will be instructions on how to create the variation within the tabs. Please note that parent ASIN's should not have any images added as we will select the most popular child ASIN as the image that will display on the detail page until your customer selects another child ASIN.

Ensure that you review the title requirements policy as well, not just for variations but for all of your products as they are currently not compliant as you have keywords in the title and they belong in the keyword section.

Once you create a variation, if you have issues, contact Seller Support and provide them with the steps you took. If you use a file, ensure that you provide the batch ID so they can investigate any errors that you receive. If you still need help after they investigate your issue, please provide me with your case ID so I can look into it further.

Regards,

Michelle
