Generic and UPC code Question

I think I read the rules like 10 times but I still have a question which I have twice asked support with one pending now for clarification but I wanted to get others take on it.

I have a product that I legitimately buy from a company here in the US but the brand name is not permanently affixed on the product. I understand that I need to list as brand Generic.

My question is that the product does indeed have a GS1 UPC but the owner of that UPC does not match the invoice, website or product (stickers) There is a global company that has several little brand names they sell. the UPC is listed on GS1 as the global company but nowhere is that company shown (my product, my invoice, the website, the upc stickers, etc.) So do I list this product as Generic brand with No UPC? I already have a UPC exemption for this category.

Here is how it all started. Lets say (made up for example) the brand name is "Little-Brand Co., Inc". The UPC is registered to "Head-Store Company" which owns "Little-Brand Co., Inc" The product was originally listed as Brand: "Little Brand" and the UPC was used. Then a counterfeit without purchase claim was made (not by this company as I know them personally and the counterfeit claim was made on 2 products, 1 I got cleared as the brand/listing and GS1 all matched) I can't win the counterfeit clam as my invoice and the letter come from "Little-Brand Co., Inc." (Not Little Brand which was on the listing, notice the co.,Inc. is missing) and the UPC is not registered to that brand but instead to "Head-Store Company".

I want to head off any further claims on these items and relist them as Generic but since there is a UPC I just want to be sure I understand the rules and list it with no UPC using an exemption?

On another note, I cannot even guess why someone made these counterfeit claims as the company for sure did not and there is little to no competition on the listings and the 1 listing was removed so the person isn't able to sell either. Like i said they made the claim on 2 different 4.00 items.
