name and tax ID dont match IRS
Hello,
I just got my EIN on Jan 10 but when i added it to amazon i got an error stating that it doesnt match IRS records.
I call IRS and checked and they said it was active and everything looks ok!
why is it not going through amazon and is not getting accepted?

Hello there @Seller_wbuVJHroGVOdT
My name is CR and first I apologize for the frustration you are currently experiencing. If you have a Selling Partner Support case ID (which it sounds like you might), I can begin investigating the issue more thoroughly. If you have not yet opened a case with them, please follow the hyperlink above to do so as the next best step.
I also wanted to provide you with the U.S. Tax Interview FAQ help page and call out this specific section:
I received an error message when trying to complete the Tax Interview. What should I do?
The information provided during the Tax Interview needs to match the IRS records.
- If you are completing the U.S. Tax Identity Information Interview as an individual, use the information that appears on your Social Security card.
- If you are completing the information as a business, use the name that appears on the top line of the address on your CP575A notice from the IRS.
- Misspelling your name, not including your middle initial or middle name, or entering an incorrect Tax Identification Number (TIN) may cause validation of your form to fail.
If this issue is still ongoing, I look forward to hearing from you soon with your case IDs. If the issue is resolved, please disregard this message and have a great rest of the week ahead.

I have had the same issue for the past 5 years. You are wasting your time and breathe with them on this. You are not going to get it corrected on their end. They also will not accept our liability insurance policy for the same issues. We have a single member LLC and the Amazon system does not acknowledge it.

Hi,
If the EIN letter from IRS has your personal name on the top line and your business name underneath the name, for you to get a match - type in your name, followed by the business name together.
Had a similar problem in the past.
Hope this helps.

If your business is a sole proprietorship, then it seems you have to list your personal name with Amazon and not your business name. I had the same issue and this fixed it.

It finally worked last night. I guess it takes a week after yopu get your EIN for it to be under IRS permannet records!
