AI generated description is obviously giving customers a wrong idea of our product. What can/should we do?

This AI generated text is giving customers a completely wrong idea of what our customers have really said. As a unique and new product, it is necessary, as in many other products, to read instructions to know how to properly use it. Amazon AI is not understanding this, so the AI took "seven (7)" reviews of our almost 500 reviews, in which some are very likely created by a close competitor to damage our sales and promote their brand, and even one of these that the Ai took as negative, is a 4 start review that end saying "Perfect for middle of the night feedings". Anyway, the AI created the "Customers Say" section with an incredibly short extract that shows that our product has "bad quality" and "doesn't work well", but it is easy to clean and use. I quoted "bad quality" and "doesn't work well", because that is what customers only see in this AI summary. So, when this started, customers immediately stopped buying our product! Our sales dropped at least 75% in the best day, since this new AI text is showing in our reviews.

We have been trying to find out what have happened to our sales for several weeks already, expending money in advertising, we change advertising managers, modified listings, etc., but nothing have worked and helped to us recover our sales; just until now, we just found out about this AI generated text that is giving customers the wrong idea of "our real reviews". The most incredible part is, that we were notified about this issue, by a customer that have bought several orders of our products in the last year, and last time she saw our listing noticed this unfair summary that Amazon shows. So unfair, that she decided to call us directly to ask why we have let Amazon damage your "wonderful product", as she called it...

After a quick analyzing the reviews of our product, we see that the Ai use 3 reviews to show customers that the product "does not work well" (leakage), but the AI is completely missing 42 reviews (way more than 3) in which customers said the opposite using few and very straight forward positive words only, like: recommend, love (them, these...), great, excellent and good. It is clear that the AI generated text is 100% misleading customers in our case with this summary.

Please let us know what can/should we do to solve this very BIG problem and recover our sales?

You have hit the nail on the head. If a product review uses the descriptions great, fantastic, works as designed, my best purchase ever on Amazon, etc., they encompass more specific attributes (adjectives) in the abstract. Now, if a review mentions something negative, the AI picks up on the particular word as a negative without balancing it against the "great" "best purchase ever" as a positive for that word.

Long and short of it the AI-generated description and keyword tags in green, yellow and black-and-white should be more accurate.

AI is new and does work the way it is intended. We have noticed on Ebay when you use AI it will take into account many different parts of the listing. If lets say you have entered mention that the product comes in a bottle AI may make the bottle as important as the product and go on about how beautiful the bottle is and take away from the actual product. We use it but not all the time because it is as you said AI is making its own mind up without understanding what you want it to say. We do not think amazon really test anything out before release. Amazon uses all of the sellers a test dummies.

Good Morning @Seller_bSuaklTCRpcBX, I took a look into CASE ID 14618141771 and it appears that Selling Partner Support has reached out to the appropriate team for reviewing this issue. Hopefully they can provide us with an update within the next few business days as I know you have already been waiting about a week for a response.

For the sellers above who are interested in learning more about the Customer Review Highlights feature, I have linked the FAQ page:

Customer Review Highlights is an AI-powered feature that displays a short paragraph and product insights on the detail page highlighting customer sentiment frequently mentioned across written reviews. We built this feature to make it easier for customers to understand the common themes across reviews and determine at-a-glance whether a product is right for them.

Thank you for your continued patience @Seller_bSuaklTCRpcBX. Please have a wonderful weekend. Sincerely, Cooper_Amazon
