Customer damaged returns

Hi All,

I have noticed that most of my product returns show up as customer-damaged. I have now turned on removal orders to avoid the "disposal". Are there any methods of getting our money back? they are not high-value items and are fine when they come back. It just grinds my gears. Reading the forums i see there is no real recourse but to just eat it. We put them back into inventory and sell thru ur other channels

Unfortunately there's no real recourse. Luckily we don't get too many and we just turn around and sell on another channel or donate locally.

check if the "customer damage" is caused through the ship in manufacturer packaging SIPP. Amazon slaps the labels directly on the product packaging and when they get returned they are not sellable anymore. I started getting those every week until I was able to get removed from the SIPP and all "damaged" returns stopped and became "sellable" again!

I also had several returned orders of ceramic mugs that damaged by customers, and i refunded then paid the extra disposing fee for the damaged mugs to Amazon which i feel incredible.

No Amazon promotes customers to damage items as this whole process generates revenue for Amazon as they collect fees off of transactions and this gives customers their money back and they they can continue to buy and destroy item over and over again. This is the Amazon revolving circle of sales.

Do you think Amazon cares? Returns are a costly thorn in amazon's side. Amazon trained their byers that they can buy your product, use it, damage it, and return it for a full refund. Of course, this is refunded at your expense, so Amazon is actually out nothing, just the seller.

Since the buyer returned the item to FBA, you personally have not seen the return. So, you just abide by what Amazon does. It is all part of the service that Amazon provider FBA sellers so you can sit back and do nothing.

Unfortunately this is just how it is. Amazon's lax return policy is a huge reason they are so big. Also they are pretty harsh on their employees, so it encourages them to simply mark the item as Customer Damaged if there is any question about the integrity of the item.

Get an idea of your return rate, along with unfulfillable returns, and factor that into your profit margin.

I’m have some success with amazon selling my returns at a discount. The assess and resell. But yes, I get a lot of brand new in package returns, or brand new opened items that someone allowed their dog to sleep on. I don’t sell dog beds.

Yes, same here. Yet, when we get them back, most are not damaged at all. Still brand new in plastic wrap. Not sure why they are tagged as damaged. UGH.

Just watched a news story today...stores that have opened up to sell "damaged" Amazon and Walmart returns. Woman was overjoyed to pick up 2 "damaged" laptops that were in perfect shape for $10.00 each... Showed video of people going nuts in the place, buying all this "damaged" items
