No. You can still get a GTIN exemption.

Hey @Seller_EGaErEnkNXyq1, the other seller on the thread is correct, but let me clarify something: Yes, you can still apply for a GTIN exemption if that is relevant for your situation, but otherwise only GS1 UPCs are considered valid UPCs.
