Can I set my own return policy?

Hi!

I am a Hungarian seller, sending items from Hungary mainly to the United States, I have a professional seller account. I am selling goose down bedding, therefore my items are quite expensive and also arrive in large boxes. I am not part of FBA, I fulfill items on my own.

When it comes to return fees, they are really high, international returns from the US to Hungary. Do I have to offer free returns, or can I set my own return policy, where I do not offer free returns?

Could someone give me some advice what I could do, how do returns work exactly. I would be really grateful!

Thank you!

Simple answer is NO, you can't set your own policy but there are ways to adjust Amazon return policies.

Start with Seller U and study it.

I refuse to sell internationally on here because I have had no help from Amazon when there were issues in the past.

My understanding is that you must offer a return address IN THE US unless you are going to do returnless refunds or send a prepaid return label to the buyer/renter of the product.

As Neverlast points out -- as an international seller on the dot com site you must either have a U.S. address for returns or offer returnless refunds. You cannot require that a buyer return to an out-of-the-country address.

Wanting to drop this resource here for you, in addition to the other helpful information already given. The Amazon Service Provider Network provides a one-stop shop to connect with trusted local providers to help you sell globally. Search for support with key business services such as accounting, FBA preparation, imaging, taxes, and more. For you particular inquiry, if you search for International Returns, you will find numerous companies that offer international return solutions.

Kindest regards,
