USPS Tracking Not Up To Date On Seller Central
I've noticed recently that sometimes I'll check tracking numbers through Seller Central and there won't be any updates since the day before, but then when I check on the USPS web site it shows movement since the last update on the Seller Central side. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Never have this issue with eBay since it pretty much shows an exact copy of the carrier site tracking info.

What you are seeing is correct and has always been a problem on Amazon. When a buyer makes statements based on the Amazon site tracking, we always refer them to the actual USPS website.

there is always and have always been a slight lag, from 30 minute delay to 5 hours delay regardless if on ebay or amazon..
i sell on both platforms when my driver does a pick up scan it always show up on usps first...
amazon and ebay development / programmers
set the check tracking bot to a set schedule and it only feeds from the usps or fedexFedEx or ups website at those intervals...
hence the lag
PS: FIXING THE LAG IS THE WORST THING AMAZON OR EBAY COULD EVER DO:
FIXING IT MEANS SENDING A BOT TO CHECK TRACKING NUMBER EVERY MILLISECOND AND / OR SECOND
CONSIDER THE STRAIN ON THE SERVERS, I WOULD PREFER SOME LAG ON TRACKING UPDATES VERSUS THE WEBSITE CRASHING FOR A FEW HOURS OR DAYS AND ME LOSING CUSTOMERS AND ORDERS.
