Changing Manufacturer barcodes to Amazon Barcode

Hi,

I have selected to use manufacturer barcode for our inventory but now we realise that we might be better off using Amazon barcodes. Is it correct that we need to delete the entire listing and create a new SKU and select Amazon barcodes? Can we not just delete from FBA listing and relist?

You are half right.

First you will need to recall any existing items sent to Amazon using the manufacturers barcode. You then will need to print out the Amazon barcode and attach to the product so that the manufacturers barcode cannot be accidentally scanned. Then you can send back the stock.

Alternatively - let the FBA stock sell out and then when you come to send in more do the above.

Do not delete the listing - you will end up with orphaned stock with Amazon that cannot be sold.

If you delete the FBA listing and relist with Amazon barcodes without recalling, the items in the warehouse will have the wrong barcode as Amazon will be expecting the Amazon barcode on the item and not the manufacturers barcode on the item. So you need to either recall first or let that stock sell through first.

I would keep with labels for your products ......stops things going missing...and having the right amount scanned on check in......since i stopped sending items without labels only a few missing
