Hi all, I just created an Amazon seller account which was deactivated almost immediately. See copy paste of the email I got.
After I got that email, I went to my account and uploaded my power bill from last month. I made sure to follow all the rules -- the bill is for the same address of my Amazon account, under my name, has the utility company information, is pdf format which I downloaded straight from my power company, unaltered, and is in English. However, it got rejected due to "We were unable to verify the documents that you provided because the address in the documents did not match the information entered in Seller Central." I wonder if this is because while the servicing address was correct, there was a "mail to" address that was my old house address I never removed from my account (I don't get bills mailed anyways, I receive them electronically). Does this matter, if the bill is serviced for the same address on my Amazon seller account?
Anyways, I thought that might be the issue so then I uploaded my gas bill from last month (downloaded straight from my gas company website in pdf format) that didn't have a wrong mailto address. However, then I got a vague response "We were unable to verify the documents that you provided."
Now I'm not quite sure what to do, since I am not sure what is wrong/missing from that gas bill.
I have been digging through the Amazon Seller Forum and I saw someone had an issue with their "Primary Contact" name differing slightly from their bill (e.g. J Bodgen different from Joe Bodgen). I wanted to double check if maybe I typed my name wrong, but I am unable to figure out where to see the "Primary Contact" on my account. Finally, my account name is "Marcel, inc." which is the name of my S Corp that I am doing business under. However, my utility bills are under my real name. Could this the reason? I hope not since I am sure there are many people that have companies registered to their home address and get their bills under their own name.
Anyways, please let me know what I can do to get my account reactivated. Thank you!

This is your issue. You will need your account name to be your name and address to match your utility bill ... OR ... change your utility bill to your company name and address to match your account name and address (but be ready to prove that you are the owner of the company name).
If you file taxes with your social security for your business, then use your name and address and match the utility bill to that.
If you file taxes with an EIN attached to a business, then use the company name and address with the utility bill matching that ... and send documentation that you own the company.
To make changes to the account name and other account items
- Click the wheel upper left and select Account Info
- Then look in second section labeled Business Information

I understand you have concerns about getting your account reactivated in order to start your business venture with Amazon.

Per the Global seller identity verification help page, we will need to verify the information you have provided during the registration process.
Does this matter, if the bill is serviced for the same address on my Amazon seller account?
The address on the bill you are providing must match the address on file in Seller Central just as @Lost_My_Marbles has provided in their reply.
You will need to provide an identity document.
Make sure that your identity document also meets the following criteria:
- Must be a government issued photo identity document which is recognized and issued by the country where you are a citizen or resident.
- Must show first and last name. The name must match the name entered under primary contact person information.
- Must include the date of birth. The number entered must be an exact match as we do not accept typos.
- Note: ID holder must be above 18 years of age.
- Must show the unique ID number. The number entered must be an exact match as we do not accept typos.
- Have an expiry date (If applicable). The number entered must be an exact match as we do not accept typos.
- Have bearer's signature (If applicable) - Certain passports are signed on the initial pages or at the back.
- Must provide both sides of the ID if there is any vital information at the back of the ID like: signature, date of expiry, date of birth, or barcodes.
- Note: If the upload page does not ask for separate front and back image uploads, be sure to merge the images into one file to upload.
- Must be a color copy.
The business address verification document is typically a utility bill dated within the last 90 days for piped gas, natural gas, electricity, piped water, mobile phone, fixed-line phone, or internet service with your name and address visible.
All documents must match the below requirements:
- Be valid (not expired, revoked, inactive or closed).
- Be high resolution and unobstructed (clear, readable, visible and in focus).
- Be complete and not cut off from any sides (not angled or cropped).
- Be a scanned image or photo of the original document taken from your mobile device's camera.
- Display the full document (front and back, if applicable).
- Be less than 50MB in size.
- Be in one of these formats: TIF, TIFF, PNG, JPG, PDF, and JPEG. Do not include special characters in the file name (examples: $, &, or #).
- Be authentic and unaltered.
- Must not be password-protected.
- Be in one of these supported languages: Arabic, Simplified Chinese, Dutch, English, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish, Tamil, Thai, Turkish, and Vietnamese. If your documents are not in a supported language, you must submit a notarized translation in a supported language along with the original document.
