how can I sell anything on Amazon? I just signed up and Everything requires an approval via documents from a distributor. I buy things at retailers to resell. Am I wasting my time trying to sell on Amazon? Any help would be appropriate!

For any rookies out there reading this, it is a near perfect example of how to get suspended on Amazon.
BEFORE even trying to start selling, ask yourself these questions --
DO YOU have an LOA from the brand allowing you to sell on here?
DID YOU source from AUTHORIZED wholesale sources that your rep at the brand says are OK.
NOTE that you need verification from the brand that the source is legitimate and authorized, NOT from one of those gray market sellers touted on TikTok and YouTube as having "thousands of brands and products" and assure you that they are authorized.
If you have watched any YouTube or TikTok videos FORGET everything you saw there.
Spend hours/days on Seller U and read the Forum to see all the really creative ways rookies find to get suspended by ignoring the advice above!

That is a business model that is really not suited to selling on Amazon. Amazon is, for the most part, looking for legitimate authorized sellers of new items (with a few exceptions, such as used media).
If RA is the business model you wish to pursue, then yes, you are probably wasting your time here. Worse, if you DO manage to get some things listed, as soon as there is any authenticity question, you won't be able to fight it, and will lose the proceeds from any sales that have not yet been transferred to you.
You're better off concentrating on sites like Ebay, which are designed more for your business model.

Michelle at Amazon here. I can see that you must be new to Amazon, so welcome! You can read more about getting approved for brands here, which will advise that you cannot use retail receipts to sell your items.
Regarding selling on Amazon, I would recommend that you review Seller University and learn more about listing on Amazon.
Since you are a new seller, you may find the New Seller Community group helpful.
