Unusual "Shipping Inquiry from Amazon Customer" Messages: Anyone Else Experiencing This?

Hey folks,

I've been dealing with a rather odd situation lately, and I'm curious if anyone else has encountered this. In the past two weeks, I've received almost ten "Shipping Inquiry from Amazon Customer" messages. They all claim they haven't received their packages. All names on the messages do not match the names on the shipping addresses. I use UPS for shipping and have sent them proof of delivery containing photos of the delivered packages. Could this be some kind of scam, or is there a more innocent explanation?

Here are a few messages I have received:

- "Friend, what's the matter, why my package has not been delivered to me for so long, I don't need it now, I want my money back now, please refund."

- "My friend, I hope you can give me a refund, the package has been delivered for too long, it hasn't arrived, I don't need it anymore."

- "I have purchased this product for a long time, but I have not received it. I just checked the logistics information and it shows that it has been delivered to me, but I haven't received any package. So I also asked my family and neighbors, and they all said they didn't receive the package. Please help me to check if the package is missing."

- "I'm sorry, but I need a refund for this order. Although I waited a long time for it, it has not yet arrived. Since it is no longer required, kindly provide a refund. Thanks."

Your insights are valuable!

I have a ton of experience with this and I have never seen these messages.

However, the messages you have provided are using suspicious terminology.

"My friend" "Kindly provide" "Purchased this product for a long time"

Everything suggests that Europeans are purchasing your product. (If you see "Dear", for example, it usually means they are from China or somewhere close by).

This points to a blatant scam. I would advise you protect yourself. If you do not opt for an adult signature in your shipments, these people might all file A to Z claims on your account and win a refund. I would assume that the intention is to severely impair your account.

I would also keep this forum post open as I would see this as an urgent matter that a mod should look at.

The summary of this situation definitely make me 😬 . Can you please tell me if you have Reported Suspected Buyer Fraud within Seller Central? Additionally, have you first reached out to Seller Support for assistance on this situation- please provide Case IDs.

If you have done the above already, I would like to submit an investigation request for suspected fraudulent buyers to internal teams. To do so, can you please send me the following:

  • ALL of the questionable Order IDs and the corresponding messages.
  • Confirm if you did indeed ship all orders to these sellers
  • Confirm if refund was processed on all packages (if not, identify which ones received refunds)
  • Confirm if any of these orders were returned back to you

Thank you!

Kindest regards,
