German VAT-ID deactivated our account - would removing FBA help?

We got our account deactivated because of invalid german VAT-ID. We use OSS from another country. Would cancelling all FBA options and removing goods from Amazon warehouses help in reactivating the account? If we don't use FBA and ship all orders from our warehouse in another EU country, then we don't need a german VAT-ID and OSS would be enough? Does anyone have similar experience?

Hey @Seller_76Kf8ann8Bkz2,

thanks four your post here in the forums.

Do I understand correctly, that you store your goods in a German FBA warehouse? In this case, you will need to have a German VAT ID.

To get more help on this issue, I would recommend to get in contact with the Amazon Account Health Support. You can contact this team via phone from Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm. Go on the main menu to Performance > Account Health and click on the yellow "Call me now" Button.

Let me know if it worked for you.

Best regards,

Janina

Hello,

As soon as, you are enrolled in OSS, you can make B2C distance sales and ship your products sold from your home country and apply the vat rate for each EU destination country of your orders.

In order to be able to store and sell your products locally in Germany, you have to get a DE vat reg. number. This number gives you also the right to implement and declare your inta-community transactions between your home country and Germany via VIES system, regarding your inventory shipments.

Marketplaces, such as Amazon, are responsible for sellers regarding the meeting of their tax requirements.

If you don't want to get a DE vat reg. number, you have to remove all of your inventory from Germany.
