There are no discounts, You pay amazon a commission for each sale and that is known before you sell.
How to operate a profitable online business is what you bring to the site. If you do not know how to operate an online retail business, Amazon can easily take all of your profit.

The Discounts Provided by Amazon program is one of the many ways Amazon helps ensures that customers find products at competitive prices. Amazon can fund a discount to customers from seller prices on certain products. In these instances, sellers will receive payment for the order and pay referral fees based on the full item price that they set.
If you have an active selling account, you'd already be eligible for this program. Per the above page, you can opt out of the program by contacting support, but you might not be able to be added back in once the opt out processes!
