Shipping into FBA from multiple locations, with majority going into one Amazon location.
The majority of our shipments from our west coast warehouse are going to an Amazon warehouse in California, where they process and distribute our inventory. Every once and a while they have us ship across the country. All of this seems about right, and what we've grown used to.
We started shipping out of our central warehouse, changing the ship from location accordingly for these specific shipments, but still the majority of these shipments are going to the same Amazon warehouse in California. Here our inventory is processed and Amazon ships it throughout the country.
Of course if we had the option we would select optimized shipment splits, but that rarely is the case.
We are headquartered in California, maybe that has something to do with it?
Does anybody else who's inbounding from multiple locations throughout the country typically experience the same? Almost as if everything is going to a primary warehouse?

Thank you for that feedback on your shipping experience @Seller_mBItn8Shld199.
There are a lot of different factors that go into how FCs are selected for shipments, including product types and quantities, existing inventory, etc.
I am hoping other sellers can offer their experiences with multiple-location shipments to let you know if your experience is familiar.
