FBA send to Amazon shipping cost doubled?
My cost sending a box of 10 units (44lb, 20x14x9 inches box) was $17 or so...
and today it increased to $36/box via UPS. Anything changed?

same here. it looks like the $0 placement option (5 or more identical boxes) has the higher shipping rates. perhaps a glitch or perhaps a way of charging placement fees in a roundabout way. I'm sending two batches today... The first was 5 (identical) 20lb boxes of a large number of light items (1380 total units) where the first two options with placement fees had approximately $55-$60 total shipping, the no placement fee option had $195 total shipping. Since the placement fees were so high due to the quantity of items I paid the seemingly overpriced zero placement fee shipping. The second shipment was 8 (identical) 39lb boxes of heavier items (312 total units) where again the shipping cost for the two options with placement fees were a fraction of the zero placement fee option. With this one it was cheaper to pay the placement fees.
If this is on purpose and by design, where was the announcement of the shipping fee changes (I easily could have overlooked it)? If this is a glitch, will we be reimbursed in some way for the overcharges? I'm sure they will not reimburse placement fees that were paid due to the other shipping charges being jacked up...

I just chatted with someone in support, and apparently this is a known issue and is being worked on.

Definitely need mods to see this and investigate, as always very poor timing for something like this to happen as thousands of sellers are busy sending their inventory to FBA.

We're in the same boat, our STA shipping costs have tripled as of this morning. Luckily 1/2 of our business is FBM so we have a very robust Fedex account and were able to ship for FBA with our Fedex account at about what UPS normally charges.
Diversification; always a good idea.

Amazon is trying to slow all new FBA shipments in November and December to focus on fulfillment, I suspect this caused them to raise shipping rates to curb shipments.

I think this may also have something to do with UPS. I have auto authorized prepaid return labels, and i noticed the price of return labels has gone up.
Testing one item, i saw my cost was $39, and Amazon was charging me $67
I am going to be opting out of auto return labels.

Could this be UPS Black-Friday-Christmas surge pricing?

Just got my first shipment of the day with the regular UPS rates...

I have not noticed an increase but i have noticed that my standard ship to locations have shifted which has increased the default price, but they have never put the cheapest option as the default, they select their preferred splits using their internal data for their receive capacity at warehouses.
experiment with all the split options to find the cheapest.

Hello from Selling Partner Services to @Seller_Zc9Y2xguxQv8V @Seller_YREevnz045NoZ @Seller_iFNOHsxySudcn and any other seller reporting these increased UPS rates for FBA partnered carrier shipments.
I reached out to our partner team to request further information. It would be helpful if any sellers experiencing this can file a support case with details including a workflow ID, as that will make it easier to investigate.
In addition, I see some sellers have mentioned that they only see such rates for shipments with $0 inbound placement fee. If any sellers also experience that, it would be helpful.
