Amazon Liquidated My Seller Iniated Inventory Return and Liquidated it Without Notification!
I am trying to understand how, several months ago, I went into my unfulfilled inventory and requested that an unsellable FBA return come back to me, only for Amazon to cancel that pending order and decide to liquidate it. If I put in the system for my product to come back to me, I expect the system or Amazon to respect that request and continue to fulfill that until it happens. If a cancellation occurs, put the item back in my unfulfilled inventory and allow me to make another manual request.
Instead, a rude agent in the chat told me that the backend system was not able to assign a ship option for the unit, causing Amazon to initiate a liquidation, which makes no sense. So, I've been waiting to get my product back for seven months, only to hear this frustrating news. I don't understand it. I feel like Amazon may not have had the product back and decided to mark it as liquidated instead of paying me the full cost of the item's value.

Amazon Distribution Centers damage/destroy, lose or have stolen inventory all the time.
Managers there are very good at delaying shipments instead of refunding such because they want to put off losses until next month, next quarter, next year depending upon when Amazon calculates their bonuses.
Keep in mind, Amazon uses the same inane metrics to evaluate DC managers, and all employees.
No one can manipulate inventory like insiders.

Was this your own brand? If you got an IP complaint for these units, Amazon has the LEGAL OBLIGATION to destroy them and is not allowed to send the items back to you.

Greetings @Seller_HiTXE2Jfg6hnF,
Thank you for raising this issue on the forums, and I can understand the frustration this experience has caused.
Do you have the case ID where you received this communication from Seller Support? I would like to investigate this further to determine if there are options to escalate, and attempt to get you a better resolution.

You can get reimbursed for liquidated inventory. You have to file a case and be prepared to be told no a bunch of times before it gets reimbursed. If your settings are set to return your inventory, the disposal is an Amazon error and can be reimbursed if you file a case for it. It happens to us every month on a few units.

Good afternoon @Seller_HiTXE2Jfg6hnF,
I'm glad you reached back out! I reviewed the information from Seller Support and looked for the reimbursement using the information provided. I was unable to find it, and I have escalated this issue internally for additional support. The team will reach out to you in roughly 1-2 business via a new case, thank you for your patience!
