Has anyone here been denied reimbursement for a lost shipment because the shipment was not delivered? (which is the entire point)

To those pesky and snarky “vets”, this is NOT a duplicate thread. This is the first time I’m seeing this issue, and the first time I’m mentioning it. You open a case for reimbursement. Reason, entire shipment disappeared using an Amazon partnered carrier after being scanned at multiple locations. Amazon’s response is they won’t reimburse because they didn’t receive the shipment. Well… yeah… that’s kind of the entire point of this reimbursement request in the first place. Like… what?

I’ve never had any luck with that. They’ve told me to purchase insurance. Best bet is to go back to UPS and ask them to reimburse. When you ship UPS, they normally cover up to $100 without purchasing insurance. With USPS, you need to ship using Priority for them to cover. They do not require the customer to purchase insurance. If package is lost or “claimed lost”, they will reimburse using your account and then it’s up to you to fight it out with the carrier.

Correct, you can’t file a UPS claim on amazon’s UPS account. With that being said, I don’t see how we could be on the hook for lost shipment if we can’t file a claim on such. Nor can we buy extra insurance to cover actual shipment cost.

I had a customers $2365 return disappear in transit using an amazon auto made UPS return label. Customer won the AtoZ and was refunded without returning a product to me. How, I do no know because the word RETURNED is in AtoZ policy and the -ED is a complete delivery.

Since we can’t buy insurance on the shipment it’s seemingly meant to be a guaranteed delivery. That and it should be assumed amazon is going to absorb all loss’s since the 3p seller has their hands tied due to it being amazon’s UPS account.

This happened to me on a customer return. Customer opened an AtoZ for $2365 even though their return was damaged/lost in transit, hence it wasn’t returned to me.

If you read AtoZ policy it says the word RETUREND, which means the customer needed to complete shipment to the seller.

In that form of logic then it would be your responsibility to get your items to where they need to be but since we’re in oppositeworld, amazon should be on the hook for your shipment.

The UPS paradox is another piece of the puzzle. You can’t insure or file a claim on a label created using amazon’s UPS account.

I am in this process too. Except they wasted 2 months “investigating” only to ask for proof of shipment as tracking had expired after 120 days. Sent a screenshot of the amazon page which now only shows shipped and waiting to hear back. They certainly know how to get out of paying things.
So take a screenshot of tracking before it’s gone as you fight this.

We had one that had 16 different item from 3 different manufactures and they needed invoices for all items at once and would not accept multiple invoices took close to 8 months fighting back and forth calling messages full of choice words almost came to the point of driving myself to warehouse and deal in person before Amazon finally took responsibly and funded for the items. Then I sh#t you not 2 weeks later they found and checked in all items taking funds back. Makes me think they do this on purpose! we still currently have 1 in 3 average shipments always are short 1 item so they must figure skimming 1 item out of every few boxes is ok theft tolerance.

For me they are just choosing to not respond to my case after I submit the evidence that there is no shortage. Extremely extremely frustrating and this is occurring at a more frequent rate. I just got another one where Amazon claims I sent an empty box even though UPS proof of delivery shows 43 lbs delivered. I just submitted my proof against the shortage for that one today.

The one where they aren’t responding, the last response I got was 9/6 and I’ve asked for updates. I even had a mod tell me they’d look into it for me last week and still no update. Nothing.

Amazon needs to do something about this, this is becoming far too common. They can’t just choose to ignore the case once I provide evidence disputing their findings. I know 100% there were no shortages on either shipment and submitted the proof to back it up. But apparently they can just choose to not respond and keep your inventory without reimbursing you.

So frustrated
