You are not protected!!!

The worst thing about selling on Amazon is how incredibly unstable and unreliable it is. You can rent offices, hire a full team, manufacture hundreds of products, or even build a factory, but you are ABSOLUTELY UNPROTECTED from their ridiculous rules and decisions.

At any moment, your account can be deactivated — for something as minor as a comma! Yes, that’s the reality. In our case, for example, they claimed there was an address mismatch, even though we checked everything a hundred times and it all matched perfectly. But according to them, it didn’t, and they blocked our account.

The most frustrating part is that they never tell you what exactly doesn’t match. They just send their cold, robotic emails. You can ask them a hundred times, and you’ll receive the same useless copy-pasted response a hundred times. One real human could simply tell us what the issue is, and it would be solved in seconds!

But no, there are no real people — [Moderator Edit: removed inappropriate commentary]. Because of this, many of our products have been blocked, and we NEVER found out why. All we got were those same mindless, automated responses.

Without AI, Amazon would not exist in its present form. There is no way that humans could cope with the vastness of this business.

I saw somewhere that their systems prevented 800,000 fraudulent account creations last year. Even if this number is "economical with the truth", it still shows how huge a challenge they have.

Their problem is not AI or even bad AI, it is their total reliance on it and the lack of human intervention and decision making to resolve genuine errors, when requested by those affected.

I sell a few second hand books to supplement my pension. I really would not want to rely on it for anything more. Having read many forum posts I know how precarious an Amazon reliant business can be. I certainly would never invest serious money knowing it could all collapse in a moment with no redress.

Yes you can but if the AI has made a mistake they won't be able to rectify it. In my case, AI accused me of having opened a second account in Poland. The 'Health Specialist' kept saying that I had to prove I hadn't opened that account. I can prove I have opened an account but not that I haven't. Especially as they couldn't tell me why they thought I had. She only suggested to ask all my suppliers' staff and their families if they had opened this account in Poland and ask ex classmates and colleagues. It took me 5 months to solve a problem that could have been solved in 10 minutes. And it was eventually solved in 5 minutes once a real human with power to override AI looked at it.
