Another Error 8541
I am getting this error. "8541: The value 'BANNER' specified cannot be used as it conflicts with the value 'OUTDOOR_LIVING' for ASIN 'xxxxxxxxx' in the Amazon catalog. If this is ASIN 'xxxxxxxxxx', update the value to match the ASIN data. If this is a different product, update identifying information (UPC/EAN/Part Number/etc.)
Seller support has recommended the following:
In order to clear previously submitted product data, delete your product listing, wait 24 hours, and then relist the product with the correct information.
In order to claim ASINs under your brand, you have to contribute the following attributes on your ASINs:
* Brand Name (brand_name); this needs to match the name we have on file
* Product ID (UPC, JAN, or EAN)
* Product ID Type (UPC, JAN, or EAN)
* Categorization (Item Type Keyword or Recommended Browse Nodes)
This is an FBA item that has over 5 years of reviews. I am very leery of attempting the above. The FBM version of this SKU has no errors. Also, This SKU is a child variation.
Would it be possible to delete the FBA listing, wait the 24 hours and create another condition for FBA using the smae SKU as before?
This item does not use a GS1 UPC (Wasn't required back in the day). I have about 70 or so unused GS1 UPC's at my disposal. This listing is active and sales are coming in but I want to clear the error.
Does anyone have any advice?

I just deleted one of the listing when a similar solution provided. I could not recreate the listing. I lost sales and inventory both. Be careful before deleting.

I am also getting the same error and called Seller Support multiple times, and they gave me precisely the same solution, which I am reluctant to follow.
Deleting the listing and then re-creating seems very risky, especially when you have inventory.

been going through this for months with seller support they say the same we done that and it did not resolve the issue then a week of so latter another support person wont read the case and lock it into incorrect catorgy then someone from support tells me to delete again. i think the only way to get rid of this is to let the sku go and cerate another.
you can delete and when recreating listing keep your same sku and asin and all your inventory will be there done it several times sometimes it helps most of the time it does but im at conclusion when it dont you lost that listing. i opened a new thread here begging for a mod and yet no one helped just like useless seller support!

We have been repeatedly getting that error message. Did AMZ do something that is causing this error message to constantly appear? We can't get a single item at all, and we mean AT ALL, listed. And dealing with Seller Central is a nightmare and all we do is exchange text messages with no forward movement. Anymore, AMZ is a nightmare on an hourly basis.

I am going through the same issue with 2 of my bestselling SKUs. I have UPC and am the brand owner on both. It's been 10 days of going back and forth with Seller Support, which Seller Support without any detailed help.
I would like to hear from someone who has successfully deleted and re-listed to resolve this issue, and get step-by-step instructions since this is high stakes.

10 year plus seller on Amazon, I've been dealing with this for weeks. Amazon made big changes in the past few months, destroying our once profitable business.

Facing the same issue but the Amazon Seller Support Team is not solving our issues.

Warning. Dont do this part of the request "delete your product listing" if asked. That is not a good idea. I have spent 17 hours on the phone trying to reverse the damage. We are unable to relist an item that was deleted. We now have 1500 stranded units on a severely aged ASIN with thousands of reviews and established rank. Nothing but uncontrollable technical problems. I think it has to do with older ASINs. Creating a new listing / ASIN will probably result in more errors, magnifying the initial problem.

What they say doesn't work. The only thing I have found is to make a new listing. I lose all the reviews and ranking but it will never be fixed waiting on them.
If you can live it like it is, then do so.
