Amazon Brazil was randomly added to my account

I woke up this morning to 4 small charges to my payment method in Amazon.

Looking at my Account Overview, I'm noticing that Amazon Brazil is now listed as Active.

How did this get enabled? Why did it get enabled? Why wasn't I notified?

Same thing happened to us. All of a sudden Amazon Brazil showed up in our USA/Canada account.

No idea how it got added and can't figure out how to get rid of it.

Maybe it has something to do with Brazil being added to the Amazon North American Unified accounts, but that happened back in August.

Amazon is slowly adding Brazil to all .com accounts. There is nothing you can do to prevent it.

WARNING!: DO NOT ASK AMAZON TO REMOVE BRAZIL. DO NOT ASK THEM IF IT'S POSSIBLE TO DEACTIVATE BRAZIL. DO NOT ASK THEM ANYTHING REGARDING THE BRAZIL MARKETPLACE!!!!

Just put Brazil on Vacation mode, double check that Amazon did not copy any of your listings to Brazil, and you should be fine.

BUT DO NOT ASK AMAZON TO DO ANYTHING FOR YOU!

Maybe you didn't see it, but it's been at the top of the seller central homepage this month. It's the first box, and the only box that is colored with a big exclamation point.

Same thing happened to us. I opened a ticket with support but I couldn't get them to understand that I did not want to close my account, merely to have this new store removed. After several clarifications and further inane replies I took the easy way out and simply put the store in vacation mode. I don't know if seller support is being run by AI or HU - Human Unintelligence.
