EU B2B EORI number needed
Hi there,
Ever since Brexit became official we have been fighting this issue. I’ve had a case open with Amazon for literally months now that just keeps telling me to be patient. Let me set the scene:
- EU based B2B customer places an order which is coming from a seller in the UK.
- It is the sellers responsibility to send the goods with all relevant information attached.
- This means entering both EORI numbers (ours and the customers) within the pre-advice.
- We do not have (and as far as I’m aware, cannot ever know) the customers EORI number.
- Goods get delivered but an EORI is requested to release.
- Customer had no idea they were buying from a UK seller (I know right!) and do not have an EORI number. They therefore refuse delivery.
For obvious reasons this causes major headaches with the customer as well as us as a seller. I’ve been hitting my head against a brick wall for 2 years now with Amazon! It is a fairly high percentage of orders affected (I’d say maybe 20% being the problematic no EORI number kind).
Has anyone got anywhere with solving this issue?
It would be so simple for Amazon to sort:
- When EU B2B customer is buying from a UK seller (and vice-versa), simply ask for their EORI number at the point of sale. Issue gone!!! Then pass onto the seller within the xml, similar to how the IOSS number is handled.
Hoping someone can jump on and help out here

Hi Dazz,
We are looking for a similar solution, we end up shipping B2B orders without the IOSS number on a DDP service where we get the Duties and Taxes billed back to us, if you find any solution please let us know.
