ASIN Deactivation Due to unit_count / unit_count_type – No Resolution After Months

hey everyone

We are facing a long-standing issue with the attributes unit_count and unit_count_type for several of our supplement ASINs.

Amazon instructed us to change the unit_count_type from “Stück” (pieces) to “g” (grams). We followed this instruction and submitted the updates correctly via both the edit function in Seller Central and flat file uploads.

However, since the ASINs are inactive, the system does not process the updates. As a result, the restriction team does not recognise the change, and the listings remain suppressed. This creates a loop: the ASIN must be updated to be reactivated, but it must be reactivated to accept the update.

We have contacted all relevant teams — including Seller Support, Product Listing, Brand Registry, and Account Health. Some acknowledged the issue, but none were able to provide a solution. Our appeals are either ignored or closed without proper review.

We are now several months into this issue, and the affected ASINs remain blocked without progress.

We are looking for a concrete solution. If any seller has faced and resolved this problem, especially in the supplements category, we would appreciate your input.

Thank you.

Hello @Seller_AnRAYOO6XeQl2,

while I cannot promise anything, I would like to check this together with you. Can you please tell me the case ID where you were asked to update the unit_count_type from “Stück” (pieces) to “g” (grams)? Please also tell me one case ID from later on, where you included the description of the issue with this loop, ASINs, Batch IDs and other relevant info.

Best,

Emma
