Alteratives to text OTP for 2FA
In a couple of months I'm going on a cruise. The cruise has a number of sea days when there will be no mobile phone service available. I pay to have internet access on the cruise but when I try to access my Amazon account to keep on top of any messages, I am unable to receive the OTP that they send via text.
I gather it's possible to use an authenticator app instead of texts. I assume this works without the need to receive text messages so it would fit the bill here.
Can anyone confirm this and point me in the direction of an idiot's guide to setting it up?

I went on a 4-month round world cruise a couple of years ago. Not the correct way to do things, but I used the Amazon seller app and kept logged in the whole time, so no need for a code. We had 10 consecutive sea days at one point and I was able to check for messages every other day.
If you google the "google authenticator app" it tells you all about how it works.
Have a fabulous time - where are you sailing to?

Hello, we use authenticator app to sign in for travelling reasons, we use the app 'authy' on our phone and also have in downloaded on computers.
Just download it and easy enough to follow the steps to link your amazon account to it, then all you need is internet connection to the app to get the code to login.
Hope this helps, enjoy your cruise.
