Be aware that UPS has extended some UPS Ground transit times

I was noticing that an order which I shipped out on time and by the service I selected (UPS Ground) was showing that it would be arriving a business day later than Amazon had calculated and that I expected. (Using Amazon Shipping Automation.) The shipment is going to California and previously would take 4 business days, but is now being calculated at 5 business days by UPS. Amazon let me ship it with Amazon Buy Shipping by UPS Ground, but now it looks like it will be delivered a business day late. I checked the previous order for this customer and saw that it did indeed only take 4 business days before when they ordered a couple of months ago. Then I downloaded the UPS Ground Map for shipments shipping today vs shipments shipping a couple of months ago and found that there is quite a lot of difference. There is an area in Oregon that now takes 7 business days when it used to take 6, and areas all around the country that are taking a day longer than they did just a couple of months ago. I also downloaded a map of a couple of months out thinking maybe this was a change for the holidays, but that map is exactly like the map for today. So, it looks like UPS has extended their delivery times for many areas across the country. See the maps below showing the differences between a couple of months ago (top) and today (bottom).
