Parent-Child Variation Turned Into Independent Listings

Hello everyone,

I’ve been selling on Amazon for the past six or seven years and in the last few months, I’ve found that quite a few of my parent-child (variation) listings have been broken up into separate listings. Obviously, this has had an effect on my sales. I’ve read over a number of forum posts, articles and videos that talk about how to fix these listings so that the listings will return to their appropriate parent-child relationship (allowing my customers to see all of the options at a glance) via a Flat File.

However, every time I’ve followed the advice that I’ve found, I come away with errors OR my listings do not revert back to their parent-child relationship. If anyone could offer me specific advice for the example below, I’d greatly appreciate it. From there, I should be able to deduce how to fix the rest of my listings. Also, is there a reason why this happens? It all seems to have occurred in the last few months, so I do not know if it is related to Amazon updating their SEO algorithm or something else entirely.

I appreciate your time and consideration!

Example:

Parent ASIN: B07L3CK68Z

Size 8x10: B07L3CNHWM

Size 11x14: B07L3DBHXL

Size 16x20: B07L3CP4YD

Hello @Seller_bkxIUQoVNcWvz,

Michelle at Amazon here. I have reviewed your variation and the reason they are getting removed from the variation, is due to they are not in a valid variation. Your variation theme is size, which means all the products on that page differ in size only, however, you have different saying on your signs as well as different sizes.

You will need to break the variation and then create them with one saying per variation, then they should no longer be removed. If they are, please provide me with a Seller Support case so I can have this looked into further.

Thanks,

Michelle
