Unable to Charge Error with Mastercard Debit ?
Last month, our seller account was blocked due to Unable to Charge Method. My registered card in the account had been working totally fine for the last 5 years. I reached out to the Amazon support for this issue and kept telling me that the billing address does not match with the one from issued bank. All information with the card was 100% correct but still did not work.
After adding a new credit card, the issue was resolved. I came to a conclusion that my original registered card was not verified because it's a Debit Mastercard.
It's very confusing because in the Amazon page, they clearly say they accept both credit and debit cards:

My question here is does Amazon accept a Debit Mastercard? Or did they recently stop taking it? We are based in Canada, this leads to not being verified?
Hope anyone can give us a helpful information about this.
Thanks,

In regards to debit cards -- what they say and what they do are not at all the same. I think it is wrong of Amazon not to just declare that debit cards probably won't work -- but I don't think that will change. Some sellers have used debit cards for years only to have them suddenly not work.
Just stick with true credit card.

Hello @Seller_GkvtZi1pODhu4
Thank you for reaching out. My name is CR and wanted to hop in here to provide you with some additional information. You have already received some great guidance above from fellow community member, @Seller_Hi7wbO2Kbo6bl - thank you!
You will want to add a true and valid credit card to the account. It cannot be a pre-paid or debit card. The card must also be able to accept international charges. Amazon may accept a debit card initially for charges, however, in order to get the account verified and being to list items a true credit card must be added. I realize this is confusing it how it is worded on the policy page and we are working to get that updated.
We accept the following cards:
- American Express
- Diners Club
- Discover
- JCB
- MasterCard
- Visa
Updating to a valid credit card should get you through this obstacle.
