Best practices for Insufficient address Return to sender

I just received a return due to "Insufficient address" from the postal service. I know that other online marketplaces have seller protections put in place when dealing with this type of issue. Will Amazon protect the seller if an item not received case comes up due to this? How about feedback removal? If there's no seller protection in this case then what is the best way to handle this?

If you purchased the shipping through Amazon, you would be covered if they do an A-Z claim or leave negative feedback regarding delivery.

If you have received the item back, you must refund.

This has nothing to do with INR claims.

You may withhold the original shipping charge if you wish.

I do not advise this -- the fault may lie with the buyer for careless address, but the fault may not lie with the buyer at all. Packages do occasionally get returned for this reason, when in fact, there was nothing at all wrong with the address. It happens -- not often -- but enough that I would not withhold shipping on the refund.

Amazon is NOT like other sellers. Amazon does almost nothing to protect sellers. They are only interested in coddling buyers.

Unlike @Seller_Hi7wbO2Kbo6bl I mark it as 'undeliverable address' and withhold the shipping costs IF I charged shipping.

FIRST, I send the buyer a message saying that the package was returned to me and letting them know why.

The BEST ones are the 'unable to forward' or 'addressee not known' since that means the PO didn't just screw up as she notes can happen.
