VIES VAT NUMBER INVALID
I received my VAT number in 2018, I use it for OSS and my local VAT filings.
Today I received 10+ emails from Amazon to say my 6 year old VAT number has become invalid: The VAT Information Exchange System (VIES) from the European Commission has concluded that your VAT registration number is invalid and as a result, your VAT registration number has been declined
I went to the VIES site to check the validity of my VAT number - its VALID.
So this is an Amazon mistake. I had deleted the VAT number to reupload it but when I try this I get an error to say it is invalid.

VIES no longer applies for UK VAT registrations except Northern Ireland. It hasn’t since Brexit. No idea why it has only now become a problem for you.

You need to contact the HMRC, to enable your business details to be seen by anybody who checks VAT id on VIES. It is currently, set to not be seen, by a third party, and here lies your problem.
Only the HMRC will make this change and it will be active within 24 hours.
It happened to us, and I reached out to the tax man. They confirmed the issue and amended it, problem was solved.

We had the exact same issue in Spain. We had to contact our Vat agent and make the payment for any overdue fees. There is no other way around this we could find. Its very annoying but its the way things are sometimes
