FNSKU Label Requirements
Hello everyone,
I am an FBA seller and own my brand. I have read in another discussion that it's better to use the FNSKU label rather than UPC, even if I own the UPC from GS1. However, would I need to add the FNSKU sticker on the primary packaging? Or just the second one since this will be the scannable part. My product will be launched in a bottle and the then bottle placed in a carton, both bottles and cartons will have design, so want to make sure that I only need to sticker the FNSKU label on the carton and no need sticker it again on the bottle. Hence, I am selling a gated product.
Regards,

Hi @Seller_32cZX8d92silf,
Thank you for reaching out with this question!
If you are the manufacturer or the brand owner and want to print barcodes directly on the product packaging, you can use a GS1 standard UPC barcode. For products not using a manufacturer barcode, an Amazon barcode (such as FNSKU labels that start with an X) must be applied.
For more information and best practices with FBA labeling, I'd encourage you to reference the following resources:
- FBA product barcode requirements
- Packaging, prep, and labelling requirements
- Use Amazon barcodes to track inventory (this page will provide instructions on how and where to apply the FNSKU label)
I hope this helps! If you have any additional questions or need further assistance, please let me know!
All the best,
Jameson
