OTP via SMS Not Being Sent When Using Google Voice
Hi All,
I wanted to post this just in case any one else was going through this. It appears that Amazon is no longer supporting Google Voice phone numbers for texting OTP's (at least in my case). I wasn't able to login for a few days, but found an article in the Google Voice forums that helped me out. The part in bold is what got me in. Here it is just in case it helps anyone:
Everyone seems to be experiencing this. Amazon will no longer send OTP codes to Google Voice numbers. Change your phone number on your Amazon account to a true mobile number, or configure you account to use an alternate authenticator, such as Google authenticator. Microsoft has an authenticator app as well. You *might* be able to have Amazon call you with a code. Make sure you don't have screen calls enabled in Google Voice.
If that is successful, change your phone number with Amazon to a true mobile phone immediately, before they stop placing phone calls to Google Voice numbers, too. Look in to an alternate authenticator, as well.

Are you using Google voice on a laptop/desktop or a phone? I always thought Google Voice was only for laptops and desktops. If this works on laptops, how do you get it to ring and give the code? I don't understand why you would disable screen calls on Google Voice if you are trying to receive a call? How do you disable screen calls? Sorry for all the questions. Thanks for any help you can provide!

Most likely a change on Google Voice's side of handling. Could be wrong, but Google Voice has been phasing out multiple verifications from their platform. Meaning, tons of companies can no longer use Google Voice text numbers for codes now.

After almost a week of my whining the Amazon OTP suddenly appeared in my Google Voice account. No notification was provided from Amazon and no viable solutions given for the cases I opened. Nonetheless, I have added a fresh phone number and device passkey.

Quick update: OTP via Google voice is working again for me but I did add a backup just to be on the safe side.
